The COVID-19 pandemic poses great risk to people with disabilities. This is happening not only because of preexisting conditions but also because of the entrenched social inequities people with disabilities face. The initial exclusion of people with disabilities in the US public heal response has led to widening disparities, short-comings in engaging and equitably supporting individuals with disabilities, and practices that devalue the lives of those with disabilities.
