US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) subjected people detained in its facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic to systemic abuses, lack of adherence to public health measures, and medical neglect, according to a new investigation published today by Physicians for Human Rights in collaboration with faculty and student researchers at Harvard Medical School. Interviews with 50 formerly detained people reveal widespread medical neglect, lack of basic supplies, retaliation against immigrants in ICE detention.
